Blepharoplasty Techniques

There are many different techniques that can be applied depending on factors, such as the thickness of your skin and the extent of your aging, including:

• Skin Pinch and Skin-Flap Only Blepharoplasty: This is a quick, safe way to remove a small amount of eyelid skin, with the incision concealed in the crease below the eyelashes. Skin-flap only blepharoplasty is similar but slightly more extensive.
• Subciliary Blepharoplasty: This technique involves the removal of the excess skin and fat that cause under-eye bags. The incision is made in the crease below the eyelashes. Fat is the primary cause of dark circles under the eyes due to shadows cast by light falling on the bulge.
• Transconjunctival Blepharoplasty: Fat can be removed through an incision made on the inside of the eyelid. Some excess skin may remain, which can be eliminated with a skin pinch procedure. 
• Transconjunctival Blepharoplasty with Fat Repositioning: One of the most advanced methods. The incision is similar to a regular transconjunctival blepharoplasty, but the fat is re-draped over the cheekbone instead of being removed. This technique softens the transition between the lower eyelid and the cheek and eliminates the need for fillers to smooth the crease under the lower eyelid.

“Crow’s Feet” and Droopy Outer Brows
